Cut to fit your window
Order the size above your opening and trim it down with scissors or a blade. Nothing is measured to order and nothing is made to wait for.
Magnetic fly screen doors that close behind you, chain and string curtain doors for a doorway that stays open, and swatters for the few that still get in. Fitted with hook and loop tape, so there is nothing to drill.
Every screen here is one you fit yourself, in minutes, with no screws and no nails. It folds away for the winter and leaves nothing behind on the frame.

39" x 39" up to 78" x 78", in white, brown or black frame. Doors run 15 sizes from 27.5" to 70.8" wide, in black or white.
A window screen holds on a self adhesive magnetic strip that goes round the frame. A door screen fixes to the frame itself. Neither needs a drill.
It lifts off at the end of summer without marking the frame, which is the part that matters if you are renting.
Standard grey for flies and mosquitoes, midge mesh in black for the small biting ones, and a heavier pet proof mesh that stands up to claws.
A leather swatter, a five pack of plastic ones, an electric racket, a table fly fan, and repair tape for a screen that has been caught.
Six doorways, and the screen that suits each one.

At Screen Door Company we sell door screens you fit yourself, right across New Zealand. This page is the short version of what we have learned selling them: which screen suits which doorway, how to measure, and what each one is actually good at.
It is a pair of mesh curtains held shut down the middle by a line of heavy duty magnets, fitted to the door frame rather than the wall. You walk at it, it opens, and it pulls itself closed behind you while your hands are still full.
It hangs on a sewn hook and loop frame, so there is nothing to drill and nothing to screw on. It comes down at the end of summer without marking the frame, which matters if you rent, and it folds away.
We sell three kinds of doorway screen and they do different jobs.
Magnetic fly screen doors are what most people want. They seal, so they actually keep insects out, and they suit a door you walk through several times a day.
String curtain doors are polyester strands you walk straight through with nothing to push. Good for a shopfront, a cafe or a doorway that is never closed, and easier on a wheelchair or a trolley.
Chain curtain doors are anodised aluminium and last for years in constant traffic. Neither the string nor the chain seals the way mesh does, so treat them as a doorway curtain rather than an insect screen.
Our doors ship with a durable midge mesh: a fine weave that keeps out flies, mosquitoes and the smaller biting insects including midges. It is fibreglass rather than cheap nylon, so it holds its shape, does not crease in the packaging and lasts a season after season rather than a summer.
Measure the DOORWAY, not the door: the width of the opening at its widest point, and the height from the floor to the top of the frame. Order the size that covers the opening.
Our doors run from 60cm to 180cm wide and from 180cm to 240cm high, in black and in white. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. A screen that is a little large is trimmed at the top; one that is short leaves a gap down one side, and a gap is the whole problem you are trying to solve. For anything unusual, ask for a custom quote.
Get the top edge level before you fix anything. A screen hung out of true will not sit flat no matter how strong the magnets are. Work from the top across, then down each side, keeping the mesh under light tension. It takes about ten minutes and no tools. If a panel later tears, our repair tape patches it without taking the screen down.
If you are unsure which screen suits your doorway, or it is an odd size, ask us first. We would rather answer two questions now than have you send a screen back.
